Data Backup and Recovery

BACKUPS

One of the biggest fears of any business person who uses a computer is the thought of losing everything on their computer because of a virus, a hard drive crash, fire or theft. There are ways to backup using tapes, floppy disks and zip drives but they are slow and sometimes unreliable.

There are two types of backups. The most common is that of selecting just the files and folders that you have your documents and databases in. The second is a complete backup, which makes a copy of every single file on the computer.

Hard Drive crashes are very common. If you needed to replace your hard drive and you didn’t do a complete backup then you must reinstall every piece of software that was on it and setup all your Internet software including email again, which could take many hours. If you had done a complete backup you would still need to reinstall the operating system and backup software before you could start taking data off a backup tape, which could also take many hours not to mention that tapes do break.

Let us recommend a backup solution for you today!

DATA RECOVERY

At some point even the best Hard Drives will crash, lockup or begin to corrupt data. Viruses, power surges and user error can also cause the Hard Drive to fail.

We can recover data from just about any hard drive. Data from hard drives, which have been reformatted, can also be easily recovered. In fact we can usually recover a file from a hard drive, which has been reformatted up to eight times.

The only data that we cannot recover locally is where one of the hard drive “heads” has broken off or has come in contact with one of the drive’s disks. In a rare circumstance such as this we can provide you with a quote on recovery costs from a facility that has what is known as a “clean room”. A Clean Room is where the drive can be disassembled and mounted on a recovery platform in a dust free environment.
